“Sumo” tickets (not included in the regular registration)

The destination of DLT2018 excursion is “Shita-machi”, the old-district of Tokyo, where the Sumo championship tournament will be held. Thanks to the recent promotion of Tochinoshin, a sumo wrestler from Georgia in the Eastern Europe, to the Ozeki (2nd highest rank), Sumo is extremely popular nowadays. Hence, it is not guaranteed how many seats we can secure. If you are willing to admission to the championship, please indicate the will in the registration form. The tickets will be assigned in the First-register-first-served manner. Please pay the ticket on site by cash. It costs 9,500jpy/ticket.

The “Shita-machi” excursion consists of 3hrs free time there + banquet.
Our bus will take you from the conference venue to Ryogoku station.
Besides sumo tournament, Shita-machi offers lots of attractions such as Asakusa (temple city of Senso-ji), Asahi Beer Tower, Akihabara (sanctuary of “Otaku” culture), Boat-tour along Sumida river, Edo-Tokyo museum (400 years experience of Tokyo development), Hokusai museum (well-known internationally by his representative work “Great Wave off Kanagawa”), and the organizer’s favorite beer bar “Popeye” (open at 5pm), all of which are 15mins walking distance from Ryogoku station.
